Compost is created when organic material breaks down and decays.
Compost can be created by using green garden waste, ie grass clippings, flowers, leaves and by storing it in a dedicated composter or in a more natural pile!
Kitchen waste can also be composted using a wormery. Worms break down kitchen waste quickly and efficiently and make a high quality compost as a result. Enclosed wormeries can also produce a liquid fertiliser which is great for plants.
Both types of composting have environmental benefits. They stop rubbish going to landfill and at the same time add much needed minerals back into the soil.
